Drama actor Aidil Aziz and his two friends were charged in court, here, today, for trafficking 465.61 grams of ganja two weeks ago.
No plea was made from Aidil, 29, or his full name, Mohd Aidil Abdul Aziz; Omar Sayeed Ghulam Mohammad, 36, and Filipino R. Guevara Cortez, 33, after the charge against them was read in front of Magistrate Siti Radziah Kamarudin.
They committed the offence at No 1 Jalan Ampang Ulu, at 12.40pm, on Sept 24.
Aidil and Omar Sayeed, who are self-employed, and Guevara, who is an information technology engineer, were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Aftal Mariz Mohamed appeared for the prosecution, while Aidil was represented by counsel Muhammad Nor Izzat Nordin, and Omar Sayeed by counsel G.Jaya Prem, but Guevara was unrepresented.
The court set Dec 7 for re-mention of the case and the presentation of its chemical report.
