IPOH: A car hauler driver has been slapped with an RM300 fine after he was filmed driving dangerously while carrying eight police patrol cars recently.
A 58-second video clip of the incident had gone viral on social media after it was uploaded by a Twitter user with the alias 'Nan Manjoi 8715', showing the hauler carrying a load of cars being driven dangerously.
Tapah district police chief Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said action was taken against the 32-year-old lorry driver under the Road Traffic Rules 18 LN 166/59 on Feb 11, after the man was called in to have his statement recorded to aid in the investigation.
He said investigations revealed that the hauler was carrying eight police patrol cars involved in the auction sale of government movable assets belonging to the Seremban Police Headquarters.
"The vehicles were gathered at the Seremban Industrial area before they were loaded on the car hauler and taken to Ipoh," he said in a statement here today.
