The Ministers Special Meeting today agreed to allow driving training institutes and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) driver's licensing process to resume from June 1.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, however said, the organizers still need to comply with JPJ's guidelines.
"JPJ has also set standard operating procedures (SOPs) in accordance with resolutions by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Security Council (MKN) such as temperature checks, disinfection inside and outside the vehicle at all times before and after use and ensuring capacity and seat arrangement.
"The public is reminded to obey the instructions issued and also to adopt new norms such as social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene," he told a daily press conference here on Saturday.
“The decision was made by the government after considering the application made by the management of the driving training institutes,” he added.
