Drunk man nearly dies after sleeping under trailer

In the incident at about 5.50am, the 39-year-old victim reportedly suffered severe injuries to his left leg.

Ipoh Fire and Rescue chief P. Samasuvam said the victim who lived in Taman Bagus, Ulu Kinta - about six kilometres from the scene - was believed to be drunk when he fell asleep under the trailer.

"We received a call from the public informing about the incident at 5.51am.

"When the personnel arrived at the scene, the victim was found unable to move as his leg was broken after being crushed by the trailer, however, the he was not trapped," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

Samasuvam said firemen removed the victim from under the truck and he was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for further treatment.

The rescue operation ended at about 6.30am.
