IPOH: Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has failed to gain the support of the majority of State Assemblymen (ADUN) in the motion of confidence vote in the Perak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Friday.
A total of 48 ADUNs did not support the motion and only 10 supported while there was one spoilt or neutral vote.
Earlier, Pengkalan Baharu ADUN, Datuk Abd Manaf Hashim in a letter dated November 18, said Ahmad Faizal who is also Chenderiang ADUN from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has the confidence of the majority of Members of the DUN.
For the record, for a motion to get a simple majority, it needs at least the support of 30 ADUNs.
Perak has 59 ADUNs consisting of Barisan Nasional 25, Bersatu 5, Pas 3, DAP 16, PKR 3, Amanah 5, Gerakan 1 and Bebas 1.
