The e-Tanah system, a digital integrated application developed to carry out electronic land administration matters, will be extended nationwide in the near future.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said the effort to digitalise land administration using the system would provide convenience to the people when carrying out land-related dealings.
“I hope what we do will benefit all and the Cabinet has agreed for the system to be implemented throughout the country. The system is expected to be launched this year,” he told reporters after launching the Underground Utility Detection Equipment Calibration Centre at the National Institute of Land and Survey (Instun) here today.
He added the system would be expanded after the success seen at the office of the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Director of Lands and Mines, which has been using the e-Tanah system since 2017.
"It was a very good thing that we conducted a study in the Federal Territory, as we found the results obtained in the land office had doubled while facilitating people’s dealings in land-related matters," he said.
Speaking further, Shamsul Anuar said the implementation of the e-Tanah system was to modernise the digital service delivery system for faster, transparent, and effective land management services.
“This initiative will improve the ‘end to end’ service delivery system, thus facilitating transactions by the people by saving cost and time.
“The ministry will also focus on further improving the system's efficiency towards new normal practices and reduce physical transactions,” he said.
