Early BR1M payment in time for Aidilfitri

In light of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, the third instalment for the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) payment this year would be disbursed early, from June 15 onwards.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement today, said the government hoped that the aid would help recipients in their preparations for Hari Raya, which is expected to fall on July 6.

During the 2016 Budget, the government had announced that payment would be made in four stages. The first stage took place last Jan 28 and the second on April 28.

The money would be credited directly into the recipients' bank accounts. For those without accounts numbers, a letter of approval would be mailed to their respective addresses and they can then cash it at any nearby Bank Simpanan Nasional branch.
