The full results of the Sungai Limau state seat by-election are expected to be announced Monday at 9pm.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof expected the vote counting to be concluded before night.

He was also satisfied with the preparations by the EC for polling Monday.

Based on checks made Sunday evening, all polling centres and voting streams had been adequately provided while the officers on duty Monday had already been trained, he said when interviewed live by RTM1 Berita Perdana at the RTM mini studio on Sunday.

"We also hope they will be able to work during the stipulated time, because the polling centres must be opened at the latest by 8am," he said.

He also told leaders and supporters of the contesting parties to respect the rules and stop campaigning at midnight.

"And to voters, we hope they are ready with information such as voting streams, voting centres and their vote serial numbers and their identity cards," he said.

Speaking to Bernama on electricity supply during polling and vote counting Monday, Abdul Aziz said Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) had been given the responsibility to ensure no power disruptions during that period.

He said the EC had made early preparations by cooperating with TNB where 18 generators had been placed at the vote tallying centre and polling centres.
