The Education Ministry has refuted reports which went viral on social media that that the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) Bahasa Melayu 2 papers contained racist questions.
In a statement today, the ministry said investigations carried out by the Examination Syndicate (LP) found that the questions were not from this year's UPSR examination.
"Actually, each question formulated by the LP for each paper has gone through an evaluation process to ensure curricular representativeness and that it meets the objectives of the subject," the statement said.
While expressing regret over the false reports, the ministry said the LP had always given priority to racial harmony and solidarity, especially in the context of examination papers.
