Efforts to search for five youths who are still missing and feared to have drowned in Sungai Muar near Buloh Kasap town, here yesterday, continued for the second day today.
The head of the diving team of the Johor Fire and Rescue Department, Mohd Aizat Mamat said they were continuing the efforts in several sections of the river to search for Mohd Shafiq Mohd Syukur, 16, Mohd Hafizuddin Kamal, 16, Mohd Zaki Zaidi, 16, Mohd Izuan Hakimi, 16, and Mohd Nazreen Zainal, 14.
"So far, there has been no new development. Three victims were found yesterday," he told Bernama today.
The five who were still missing were among the eight youths who disappeared after they drowned in Sungai Buloh Kasap at about 9.30am yesterday.
Members of the rescue team found the bodies of Mohd Hafizul Danial Norhashim, 16, Mohd Zikri Zaidi, 14, and Nazirul Aminuddin Zamri, 15, yesterday.
All the victims lived in Taman Mewah, Buloh Kasap and were students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Buloh Kasap.
