This is based on the information released by the Egyptair officials, the ministry said.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its hope for the safety of the passengers and crew of Egyptair MS804,” the statement read.
EgyptAir was thrown into the limelight two months ago when one of its plane was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus by Seif al-Din Mohamed Mostafa, a 58-year-old Egyptian.
Cyprus authorities have described Mostafa as "psychologically unstable" and said the case was not "terrorism-related".
He is accused of forcing the plane to divert to Larnaca airport on the island's south coast on Tuesday by threatening to detonate an explosives belt that turned out to be fake.
