Eight passengers killed, 22 others injured in bus crash near Tapah

Eight passengers of a tour bus were killed in an accident which caused the vehicle to burn at Kilometer 326.3 of the North-South Highway (PLUS) near the Tapah exit.
Seven were burnt to death, while 22 others were injured during the 1.15am accident
Meanwhile Tapah Hospital director confirmed another death which brought the number of deaths to eight.
The bus with a capacity of 30 passengers was heading to Genting Highlands from Kuala Kurau, Parit Buntar was confirmed by Tapah OCPD, Superintendan Somsak Din Keliaw.
Preliminary investigations found that the accident took place when the bus hit into the tyre of a lorry which was in the middle of the road.
It later caused the vehicle to skid to the left before crashing into a Daihatsu Charade parked at the shoulder of the road bursting into flames.
The owner of the Charade was believed to have stopped his car to move the tyre, however was unable to do so in time.
