Eight remanded for seven days in real estate agent shooting

Eight local residents suspected of being involved in the shooting case of a woman real estate agent at Jalan Hujan Emas 4, Taman OUG, here on July 6, were remanded for seven days starting yesterday.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said all suspects, aged between 20 and 50, were remanded to assist investigations.
He said in this regard, police had confiscated a pistol believed to be used in the shooting case which also caused the victim's daughter to be seriously injured.
"With the detention of the suspects, police believed the case has been solved and we are completing the investigation paper," he said at a media conference in conjunction with the 36th Aseanapol Conference at the Theatrette in Menara 1, Bukit Aman, here, today.
All suspects were detained yesterday around Kuala Lumpur and Perak by the Bukit Aman Special Task Force on Organised Crime (STAFOC) as well as Kuala Lumpur CID, he said.
The police's success in nabbing the suspects was also shared by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar via his official Twitter account this morning.
"Congratulations to STAFOC and KL CID for solving the shooting of woman and daughter in OUG with the arrest of eight people in Kuala Lumpur and Perak, seized pistol yesterday #GoPDRMGo," said Khalid.
On July 6, a 32-year-old woman real estate agent died at the incident scene while her daughter was injured after the vehicle they were travelling in were shot in an incident at about 2.30 pm.
