Elephant killed after hit by bus
The carcass of the elephant has been sent for post mortem.
A male elephant died after being hit by a bus at the Timur Barat Road (JRTB) here, early this morning.
The accident occurred at 5.30am near the Titiwangsa R&R, causing the road to be temporarily closed.
The condition of the bus passengers is still uncertain but the bus’s front mirror was damaged from the impact.
Road users who frequent the area are advised to be cautious and sensitive to the presence of wild animals in the there.
Perak Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) director Loo Kean Seong who confirmed the accident, said the elephant is 10-years-old.
The carcass of the elephant has been sent for post mortem.
