Property developer Emkay Group is still in discussion with the state government and local authorities to build an affordable housing project in Cyberjaya in an effort to enhance the middle-income group to have their own house.
Emkay chief executive officer Ahmad Khalif Mustapha Kamal said currently there are proposing something to the state government and local authorities to look into it.
"We have identified about 50 acres of land in Cyberjaya. But, we hope we can start by the third quarter and forth quarter next year," he told reporters after handing over keys to 10 owners out of 180 purchasers of the Domain 3 apartment units here today.
Last September, its chairman Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal Abu Bakar said although the project was still in the planning stage, the company expected it to include the development of about 3,000 units of medium cost houses with a selling price of below RM200,000 a unit.
Meanwhile Ahmad Khalif said, the Domain 3 apartment units were handed over almost nine months ahead of schedule, while the targeted handover for the Domain 4 and 5 apartment units would be August next year and June 2014 respectively.
"Currently only 50 units of Domain 5 apartments were available with prices ranging from RM200,000 to RM460,000 per unit, while Domain 2,3 and 4 were sold out," he added.
Emkay Group is also set to increase its investment in Cyberjaya over the next five years to RM3.7 billion.
