Endau rep hurt while trying to avoid hitting monkey

Endau state assemblyman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman (pic) was injured in the cheeks and forehead today when the four-wheel-drive vehicle he was travelling in skidded after avoiding hitting a monkey crossing the road.
District police chief DSP Mohd Nor Rasid confirmed that the incident happened at 8.45 am at KM41 Jalan Jemaluang, Kota Tinggi-Mersing.
The driver of Zainal Abidin swerved to avoid hitting the animal near the Sungai Ambat police station.
They were on their way to Mersing where Zainal Abidin, who is also the chairman of the Johor Religious Committee, was scheduled to hand over schooling aid at 10am.
Zainal Abidin underwent treatment at the Mersing Hospital and was sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here for follow-up treatment. His driver was unhurt.
