The Kelantan state government has given the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) entertainment duty exemption for last year, worth RM300,000.
State Human Capital, Youth, Sports and NGO Committee chairman Datuk Ab Fattah Mahmood said the decision was made during the state exco meeting chaired by Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat today.
"The decision was made to recognise KAFA's achievement and the state's commitment towards the development of football in Kelantan," he told reporters after the exco meeting here today.
Under the Entertainment Duty Act 1953, Kelantan impose a five per cent tax for all types of competition involving human or animals.
In April 2010, the state government had also given exemption from ticket collection to KAFA, worth RM198,000, since 2003.
Ab Fattah said the state government had also decided to given KAFA a similar tax exemption this year.
