The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has introduced its first mobile application (app) known as ‘EPF i-Akaun’ catered to its Gen-Y customers who prefers online transactions.
The app was created by EPF employees and is available on all smart phones and android tablets using the 2.2 version and above.
“The ‘EPF i-Akaun’ is the latest product from EPF to meet the growing demands for electronic transactions, enabling our members with an 'i-Akaun' account to check their EPF savings. It will also help members to manage their savings better.
"In addition, the EPF app allows members to check their statements quickly and easily, ensuring their employers to submit their contributions properly and on time,” said EPF Deputy Chief Operating Officer Dato’ Ibrahim Taib.
The new mobile app also allows its members to access their profile and get the latest news on EPF, including the nearest EPF office location.
It is also equipped with an online calculator, allowing members to calculate their annual contributions, the amount that can be withdrawn for housing loans and the estimated investment amount for the EPF Member Investment Scheme.
"In the early stages, this app only provides basic features but other features will be added on in the future for the convenience of our members," he added.
