A robbery and rape suspect who used his trousers to widen the gap of the window grille of a toilet at the Criminal Investigation Department to free himself from police detention, has been rearrested 17 hours later.
Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the Indonesian man was rearrested at around 7am today at Kampung Baru Hicom, Shah Alam.
He said the man, who was naked, went to a house in Sungai Indah after escaping to get some clothes and to cut off his handcuffs.
“The suspect then went to Kapar town and sought help from a man to sent him to Kampung Baru Hicom for RM60,” said Mohd Yusoff when contacted.
Police is currently investigating the case under Section 223/224 of the Penal Code.
In the incident yesterday, the man, who was supposed to be charged today, pretended to have the urge to go to the toilet but used the opportunity to escape.
The suspect was first arrested last month for allegedly raping a 34-year-old woman after robbing her house in Kampung Rantau Panjang.
The victim’s husband was sleeping in their house’s hall with the coupldes 4-year-old son during the incident.
