"Establishment of new Perak government will be smooth" - Faizal Azumu

IPOH:Chenderiang Assemblyman who is also Bersatu Deputy President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has promised that the transfer of power of the Menteri Besar will go smoothly.

Ahmad Faizal, who accepted his defeat in a bloc voting of the motion of confidence in the Perak State Legislative Assembly on Friday morning, said the transition of the new government will be smooth for the good of the people.

"I am proud to have served the state and thank the Sultan of Perak for the opportunity to serve His Highness," he said.

Ahmad Faizal failed to get the support of the majority of the state's elected representatives in a vote of confidence today.

In the vote, a total of 48 votes rejected the motion of confidence compared to 10 who supported it while there was one spoilt or neutral vote.

Simultaneously, Ahmad Faizal will step down from his post as Menteri Besar.
