Pertubuhan Peribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) reiterated its stand to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to resolve the issue of misappropriation of funds linked to the government's strategic investment company, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Its president, Datuk Ibrahim Ali said that with the establishment of the commission, all the investigations will be conducted in a transparent and comprehensive way, especially in covering all relevant documents.
It also goes to show the professional attitude of Perkasa in refusing to accuse any party.
"That's why I say (establishment) of the Royal Commission is the best solution in solving this issue. When we set up this commission, he would reveal what had happened, who is responsible and who should be prosecuted.
The role of PAC is very limited and (it) has no power (to) claims
"We do not want to accuse anyone, let the Royal Commission determines who is guilty. This is Perkasa, we are very professional, " he said, when met at a press conference held at Perkasa headquarters here, today.
However, the selection of experts should be done comprehensively so that the investigation is not compromised or invite more serious issues.
Ibrahim also said, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is an inappropriate institution to conduct an investigation because the context of its work is focused on a review of national audit reports every year, but possess no power to prosecute.

PAC will not compromise on 1MDB investigation
"The role of PAC is very limited and (it) has no power (to) claims... its task is to check the country's annual audit reports.
"Now, an investigation has been conducted before audit, so what is there to investigate? They also said that they have conducted an oral probe on the CEO. Where are the documents? So (this investigation) will be endless, " he added.
