Evacuation centres open again in Raub

Three new evacuation centres in Raub were opened since 7.30 pm Tuesday to accommodate 81 people from 14 families in the district who were affected by the floods.

The evacuation centres were opened hardly 24 hours after the last relief centre, which was opened two days ago, closed operation at 11.50 am Tuesday, said Pahang Civil Defence Department director Zainal Yusoff.

He said the first evacuation was opened at 7.30 pm Tuesday at Dewan Datuk Adnan Felda Tersang 1 to accommodate 37 victims from five families.

Another centre was opened at 8.30 pm at Bangunan Gerakan Persatuan Wanita (GPW) Felda Tersang to accommodate 25 people from five families and at 1 am today, the relief centre at Balai Raya Kampung Tersang was opened to accommodate 19 peopel from three families, he said when contacted today.

He said all the victims were from Felda Tersang Satu, Felda Tersang Dua and Kampung Tersang.
