Ex-NSTP staff, wife killed in road crash
A former New Straits Times Press (NSTP) employee and his wife were killed in a collision between their car and a lorry at KM47 Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan, near Kampung Pasir Putih, here Saturday.
Mohamed Hanafi Abdul Manaf, 62, and Rabiah Mat Hussin, 55, from Dungun, died at the scene and their bodies were sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for post-mortem.
The couple were said to be returning to Dungun when the lorry crashed into their car while overtaking another vehicle.
The lorry driver, identified as Mohd Nor Su, 30, from Kuala Abang, and his attendant, Che Fauzi Ali, escaped unhurt in the incident.
Marang district police chief DSP Ahmad Mazlan Yahaya, when contacted, confirmed the accident.
