KUALA LUMPUR: Returning after a five-year break, ZafigoX 2024 aims to provide attendees with a variety of talks, workshops, and performances that focus on empowering women, particularly those with a passion for travel.
The two-day event organised by the women and travel platform Zafigo.com, is set to take place on October 12-13, 2024, at Menara KEN TTDI in Kuala Lumpur.
This year’s event will feature a number of prominent international speakers. Among them is Asma Khan, a UK-based entrepreneur known for her work in the food industry and advocacy for social change. Dr. Mona Minkara, an advocate for accessibility in travel for the blind, will also speak, along with Palestinian journalist Plestia Alaqad, who will share her personal experiences.
Several Malaysian figures will participate, including human rights advocate Suri Kempe and contemporary artist Red Hong Yi, known for her innovative installations using everyday materials.
Former squash champion Datuk Nicol Ann David will engage in a conversation with Zafigo.com founder Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, discussing her efforts to support youth from low and middle-income communities through her Nicol David Organisation.
The event will also feature performances by local artists such as poet Sheena Baharudin and singer Velvet Aduk, known for her work in various musical genres.
ZafigoX 2024, described by its founder Marina Mahathir as a platform for personal growth and community-building, is expected to attract women from diverse backgrounds, fostering conversations around self-discovery, empowerment, and travel.
