Express bus skids near Terowong Menora injuring 14 passengers

IPOH: 14 passengers were injured when an express bus they were traveling in skidded onto the road shoulder at Kilometer 265, Lebuhraya PLUS southbound near the Terowong Menora, here early this morning.
The injured consisted of 11 men and three women.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) Perak, they received information about the accident at 2.22 am.
"The accident involved an express bus heading from Kulim to Kuala Lumpur that skidded onto the road shoulder without involving other vehicles," he said in a statement today.
According to the spokesperson, firefighters managed to extricate all the injured victims and gave them first aid before handing them over to the ambulance for further action.
The operation led by Assistant Fire Superintendent Shahrudi Muhamad Halil ended at 4.39 am.
