KUALA LUMPUR: A list of standard operating procedures (SOP) on the Aidilfitri celebration which has gone viral on social media today is fake and untrue, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the government has not yet issued any SOP on the celebration and it would be announced soon.
"The list of SOPs is fake, that interstate travel on Aidilfitri is not allowed, is not true at all.
"I will announce the SOPs of the celebration, including on takbir raya, Aidilfitri prayers, visiting relatives and the cemetery later," he said at a press conference on the development of the Movement Control Order (MCO) at Wisma Pertahanan.
Today, a list of so-called Aidilfitri SOPs including visit and open houses not allowed, and visits can only be among immediate family members with not more than 15 people, besides interstate activities being not allowed five days before and five days the celebration has gone viral.
Meanwhile, when asked about a burger trader in Kelantan who was compounded RM50,000, Ismail Sabri personally described the punishment as too high and should not have happened.
He said the types of offences and the amount of compound had been presented in detail before, and the RM50,000 compound was for companies.
"The issuance of compounds is under the jurisdiction of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) while appeals for reduction is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health (MOH).
"However, the MOH is looking into this so we are waiting for the official announcement from them," he said, adding that those charged with the compound can appeal to the MOH.
Commenting on the need to re-implement the work from home instruction following the government's announcement of the Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) session for two weeks after the Hari Raya holiday, Ismail Sabri said the matter would be discussed with relevant parties in the near future.
“We had previously announced working from home and when the situation improved where the cases had declined, we allowed them to work in their respective offices including the private sector.
"With the current situation of cases increasing, the relevant parties (Public Services Department), MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) will announce on this matter (working from home)," he said.
Yesterday, Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said the teaching and learning session (PdPR) after the Aidilfitri holiday would continue at home for two weeks to replace classroom sessions at school.
The learning sessions started from May 16 to 27 for group A schools (in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) and May 17 to 28 for group B schools (in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya).
