Family of 5 killed, 6 injured including baby girl in Tatau accident

Five family members in a car were killed and a five-month-old relative injured when the vehicle collided with a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle at the KM77 Tatau-Sibu route on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Robin Igat, 49, Jawan Jungan, 39, Melati Robin, 24, Mandah Medan, in the 20s, and Marianne Riyung Jawan, five.

The five-month-old baby girl, Lorraine Jawan was warded at the Selangau Clinic for immediate treatment, Tatau Fire and Rescue Department chief, Azrel Izaidi Ahmad said the driver of the 4WD, Jimbun Barendak, 47, escaped injuries.

He said Jimbun's wife, Moni Nanang, 44, Biah Chaong, 70, Loxsley Jimbun, 15, Eric Sap Jimbun, 11, and Joseley Ericca Jimbun, three, sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment.
