About 20 family leaders from Kampung Tanduo and several officers from Lahad Datu were allowed to visit the homes and determine the number of property damage, according to Deputy General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar.
Till today, a total of 429 people were arrested and 116 was charged under the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012 (Sosma). Meanwhile 42 prisoners were released.
"A total of 29 deceased were buried while the rest will be buried soon. 42 bodies have been taken out of the operating area and this including two dead children." Khalid explained.
Commenting on a surrendered terrorist, Khalid told the terrorists was not getting enough food and sleep for 15 days.
Deputy General of Police also believed there are other terrorists still hiding in the bush and swamp in Kampung Tanjung Batu.
Khalid did not deny that the other terrorists who are still hiding are also suffering the same fate as the terrorists who surrendered.
“Unsufficient food and sleep and no order from the leader. The best is to surrender," commented Khalid
