The Kelantan government wants thorough investigation to be conducted on the death of a college student, believed to have been beaten by a senior student, in Bachok yesterday.
State Human Development, Education and Higher Study Committee chairman Datuk Fadzli Hassan said it was important as the society had to be assured of their children's safety while in school or college.
"We want the Education Department and the Education Ministry to look seriously on the discipline of students staying in hostels.
"Stern action should be taken on any students with disciplinary problems in schools," he told reporters after the state executive council meeting here Wednesday.
Fadzli said he was sad over the incident which befell the student and expressed his condolence to the boy's family.
