A senior citizen died after being hit repeatedly by his differently-abled (OKU) son aged 32, with bamboo and wood at Kampung Ujung, Repek, Bachok on Wednesday.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said in the incident around 5.30 am, the victim aged 71 succumbed to serious head injuries at the scene.

"One of the victim's ear was also severed in the incident and we are still investigating. The suspect is said to have some mental problems.

"He was supposed to go for mental treatment at the hospital but the family did not send him there," he told a press conference at the state police contingent headquarters here on Wednesday.

Mazlan said initial investigations found that the victim was attacked after waking up and was getting ready for solat Subuh.

On the discovery of human bones at Kampung Pak Keral, Pengkalan Kubor, Tumpat, he said the case was related to the disappearance of two teenage girls in May 2013.
