A man and his son were reported missing while looking for kepah (clams) in Tanjung Emas waters in Muar yesterday evening.
Muar Fire Station Operations Commander, Mohd Jefri Jamal said Zainal Jermal, 61, and his son, Muhammad Azwan, 25, had gone to look for clams with two others when Zainal fell off the boat.
Muhammad Azwan dived in to rescue his father but both went missing soon after, he told Bernama when contacted.
Upon receiving a distress call on the incident, a 20-man team from the department began a search around a two nautical mile radius but failed to locate the victims, he said.
The search was suspended at 7.10 pm due to failing light and will continue at 7 am today, Mohd Jefri said.
