The father's identity of Muhdalena Ahmad’s newborn baby, the woman who escaped from the police detention at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) Johor Baharu, on Thursday still remains a mystery.
The Johor Health Department director Dr Mohd Khairi Yakub told Malay Mail that the baby's father is yet to be identified.
"We cannot confirm anything yet due to Muhdalena’s current state of mind” said Mohd Khairi in the interview.
Mohd Khairi, however said that Muhdalena’s newborn son was treated at the Johor hospital before he is transferred to a yet-to-be determined welfare.
Muhdalena, 30, who was admitted to HSA last Sunday, was found missing at 9am, Thursday.
She was then arrested at the Ayer Keroh Rest and Service Area (RSA) in Melaka less than 24 hours later, Friday.
In July 2012, Muhdalena and her 'accomplice', Khalil Afendi Abd Hamid were reported to have run amok outside the Prime Minister's department complex, wielding samurai sword and were shot by the police. Khalil succumbed to his injuries sustained from the gunshots before he was pronounced dead soon after.
Muhdalena was admitted at the Putrajaya Hospital where she was treated after she suffered several gunshot wounds on her right thigh.
She was later charged under the Penal Code, the Corrosive, Explosive and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958and Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959 and acquitted by the Sessions Court of four charges related to criminal intimidation and illegal possession of a weapon.
Muhdalena was then ordered to be kept in safe custody at Hospital Permai, Johor, where she held pending orders from the Ruler of the State, after the Court ruled that she was of unsound mind at the time.
Muhdalena had undergone psychiatric treatment since June.
