Female sun bear captured in Marang

A 60 kilogramme (kg) female sun bear was captured by the Terengganu Department of Wildlife and National Park (Perhilitan) at Kampung Jenang, here, today, the second one to be trapped in two days.
The department director Dr Abdul Malek Mohd Yusof said the bear, estimated to be about eight years old, was caught after falling into the second trap set by Perhilitan yesterday.
"We received a report regarding two bears which had been roaming around and destroying crops in the village since last week.
"Yesterday, we caught a male sun bear weighing 70 kg, while today at about 6 am, another sun bear (female) was successfully captured in the same area," he told Bernama.
