Sea cleanup Astro Kasih programme reach its fifth day, expecting more new contestant joining the challenge to achieve Guinness World Record for the 168-hours longest sea cleanup.

It gives time to the first diver’s team to rest while the new team continuing the mission that nearly reaching its target for two more days.

A total of 140 divers from in and out of the country also participating in the attempt to achieve the world record that have been started since April 6 at Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Sabah.

The terms of Guinness World Record set that at least one diver has to be in the sea floor at all time and every diver must collect at least one garbage until it reach the record of 168-hour.

The total garbage that has been collected in the sea cleanup Astro Kasih programme set a record when it reach nearly one thousand kilogram.

Record also showed that fish net was the most number collected from the sea floor other than bottle and plastic bag.

Through Astro Awani observation, most of the fish net that have been found in the sea floor is covering the coral at once affecting the natural habit of the marine life.
