'Fight among SMK Merotai students an isolated case'
Sabah Education director Datuk Jame Alip insists that Sabah schools are free of gangsterism.
A case of fighting among some students of SMK Merotai recently is an isolated one and not serious or having reached the gangsterism level, said Sabah Education director Datuk Jame Alip.
"Sabah schools are free of gangsterism. Sometimes not a single fighting case is reported in schools," he told reporters here Thursday.
He said that police were investigating the fight involving nine students from SMK Merotai, which happened outside the school's premises.
He added that on their part, the school's management had been tasked with counselling the students involved and their parents.
