The woman was trying to escape a multi-agency raid when she slipped and fell to the 10th floor of the building at about 2.30am.
A 32-year-old Filipina died while fleeing from enforcement authorities when she fell from the 15th floor of the Sun Complex in Bukit Bintang here early today.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said the woman, who was trying to escape a multi-agency raid codenamed 'Op Khas Sun Complex', slipped and fell to the 10th floor of the building at about 2.30am.
"She died on the spot from internal injuries, and her body was sent to the KL Hospital for a post-mortem," he told reporters.
During the raid, 435 foreigners were screened, 154 of whom, including 32 women, were detained for various offences such as failure to produce valid travel documents and misusing social visit passes, Amar Singh said.
Those arrested comprised 22 Indonesians, 19 of them women, five Filipinas and two Filipinos, 29 Myanmar men and six Myanmar women, 60 Bangladeshi men, 19 Nepalese men, six Pakistani men, one male Indian national, and four Vietnamese, including two women.
The operation, which began at 10pm yesterday and ended at 6am today, involved 500 personnel from various government agencies, including the Immigration Department and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
Amar Singh said the operation followed complaints from the public that foreigners were being a nuisance in the area.
"More raids will be carried out in the city centre," he said.
