Finas offers two funds to boost local creative content

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), in collaboration with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), is offering the PELAKSANA 3.0 Kenegaraan Fund to local production companies to boost the production of national-themed creative content.
Finas' Corporate Communications Unit, in a statement, said that the fund will also be able to help regenerate the creative industry economy, affected by COVID-19.
"The fund is offered to local production companies to produce works for special national-themed programmes, on television station platforms, in mini-series (eight episodes) and supertelemovie categories," the statement read.
Apart from that, Finas, in collaboration with Media Prima, also invites local production companies to apply for the TV/OTT (over-the-top) programme fund for the production of supertelemovies.
It said that the offers aimed at increasing local creative content and viewing on OTT broadcaster platforms, as well as boosting content copyright ownership among local publishers, for future revenue.
