The small fire that broke out at the new wing of One Utama Shopping Centre in Bandar Utama last night was believed to have started in the fertiliser storage room.
According to a SS2 Fire and Rescue station spokesman in a newsreport, the fire squad had to shut down the electricity supply to the building and switched off the ventilating fan to prevent the fire from spreading.
The spokesman also had said that there were no casualties in the fire and the actual cause of the fire is being investigated.
He added that they received the distress call at 8.54pm and managed to put out the fire completely in 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, the news quickly ‘spread like fire’ in twitter.
People who were around the incident area posted pictures of thick smoke eminating from the building and there were also those who made postings to warn people to stay away from the area.

ONE UTAMA'S NEW WING IS ON FIRE. PLEASE GET AWAY FROM THAT PLACE ASAP.

Consider yourself lucky you are not in One Utama. Imagine if you are in the toilet taking a dump and lights go off.
