Fire razes five shops in Gopeng

Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said a team of firemen from Pasir Puteh fire station rushed to the scene after receiving information at 7.36 am.

"Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found the fire involved five food stalls of a food court under the supervision of the Batu Gajah District Council. The fire was brought under control at 10.30 am.

"No casualties were reported while the cause of the incident is still under investigation," he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Kampung Kuala Slim, Slim River, three two-storey shophouses were razed in a fire at 11.30 am today.

No casualties were reported, the spokesman said.
