A lecture room at the Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Mosque here, was destroyed in a fire around 2.20 pm, today.
State Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Mohd Sani Harul said the fire occurred soon after the Friday prayers had been completed.
He said a fire engine with two officers and 16 personnel arrived at the scene 10 minutes after receiving the call.
He said, the fire had destroyed the entire lecture room and firemen managed to extinguish it about 20 minutes after arrival. No one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire and estimated loss were still being investigated.
