Two weeks ago they rescued a man who suffered cramps while climbing up Fraser's Hill, and yesterday, Raub Fire and Rescue Department personnel went to help 19 students who got lost while climbing the same hill.
Its chief Khairul Anuar Yaakob, when contacted by Bernama, said the group from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, comprising 12 men and seven women, realised that they were lost almost four hours after hiking their way through Bishop's trail and continued to Maxwell's trail at 3pm yesterday.
"One of them contacted the department at 6.45pm to inform us that they were lost and three members of the team could not move due to the cold temperature.
"The search and rescue operation began at 8.20pm and found all of them safe an hour later and brought them down to safety 10.10pm," said Khairul Anuar, adding that the operation received assistance from three local residents and seven policemen.
