On the Facebook page of the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), where a photo of the incident was shared, it stated that four fire fighters rushed to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital to help doctors remove the 'ring'.
The Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Department chief, Zaini Bidin said the ring resembles a vehicle spare part or ‘bearing’.

“The 22-year-old man’s motive of putting on the ring on his penis is still unknown,” she told Astro AWANI.
Zaini said the doctors from the hospital called the Kota Bharu firefighters to seek help to remove the object.
“The doctors' expertise is to perform surgery on people, not on such tools. So, we were called in to help.
“We tried our best to remove the ring using some special equipment and our creativity, until we succeeded,” she said.
Zaini added that the man is currently under observation at the hospital.
