Five major roads connecting Gua Musang to the outside are still safe to use despite several landslides due to rain.
Among the major roads were the road connecting Gua Musang to Kuala Lipis, Pahang; Kuala Berang in Terengganu and Kuala Krai, Jeli and Lojing.
Gua Musang police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said the relevant agencies were monitoring slopes experiencing landslides to prevent untoward incidents to road users.
"I am satisfied with the level of safety of the roads but at the same time, road users should also exercise care as the roads are slippery," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Bernama, prior to this, had reported two landslides at KM54 and KM49 Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing, which resulted in its closure to certain vehicles since Dec 30.
Rajab Ahad conceded incidents of minor landslides had indeed, taken place at the two areas but vehicles could still use the route.
Cones were put up at the locations to remind motorists to be alert while policemen conducted patrols to warn road users of any such incident, he added. - BERNAMA
