Five seriously injured in accident near Menora tunnel
It was learned that the double-decker bus which was heading from Klang, Selangor to Kangar, Perlis rammed the trailer from behind. - Filepic
Five people were seriously injured while 14 others sustained minor injuries in an accident involving a tourist bus and a trailer at Km 257 of the North-South Expressway (Plus) near the Menora Tunnel here early today.
Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station chief Khairil Anuar Shaharuddin said five women were among the victims in the 2am incident.
He said none of the drivers and a co-driver of the two vehicles were injured.
It was learned that the double-decker bus which was heading from Klang, Selangor to Kangar, Perlis rammed the trailer from behind, said Khairil Anuar when contacted here today.
He also said the station received a distress call at 2.35am before deploying its nine rescue personnel to the scene.
The injured victims were taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here for treatment. - BERNAMA
