A five-year-old boy from Peringat claimed to have been sodomised by a relative.

His mother said in the incident which allegedly took place on July 20, the boy, second from three siblings returned home, crying and complaining of pain in the anus.

She said the boy was promised a wrist watch by the relative who is in his 60s who then took him to quiet spot in the village before allegedly sodomising him.

The boy was then referred to Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) for medical examination.

Medical report stated that the boy had been penetrated anally, his mother said.

Following the report, the boy's mother had lodged a police report at the Binjai Police Station.

"I want to know what the police are doing because we have the evidence. I am an ordinary villager, I want justice," she told Astro AWANI.

"Although my son is medically alright but his character has changed. He is more rebellious now," she added.

Meanwhile, Kota Bharu district police chief ACP Baharom Abu Bakar when contacted said the case is being investigated under Section 377c of the Penal Code.

He said the suspect was detained on August 9 and released on August 11 on police bail.

Police are preparing the investigation papers, he added.
