Heavy rain since early today caused flash floods in two villages in Bentong, according to the Pahang Civil Defence Force.
Its director, Zainal Yusoff, said floodwaters rose to between one and two feet at five houses in Kampung Semerting and one house in Kampung Mancis but there was no evacuation of villagers.
He also said that stretches of the federal road from Kampung Mancis to Simpang Pelangai were flooded but were passable to traffic.
Zainal said that from past experience, the flash floods usually receded by the evening if the weather improved. -- Bernama
