The flood situation in Pahang and Johor continued to improve further tonight with more evacuees at relief centres being allowed to return home.
In Pahang, Sekolah Kebangsaan Charuk Puting was the last relief centre to be closed tonight after all 38 flood evacuees were allowed to return home at 6.30 pm.
This brought to 1,982 the number of evacuees still taking shelter at relief centres statewide, compared to 2,111 recorded earlier.
Pekan still has the highest number of evacuees at 1,498, followed by Maran (276) and Kuantan (208).
A total of 30 relief centres are still operating, namely 18 in Pekan, nine in Maran and three in Kuantan.
In Johor, the number of flood victims in 13 relief centres in Segamat and Muar has declined to 356 tonight from 373 as recorded at 6 pm.
In Perak, however, the flood situation remained unchanged with 221 victims still housed at the two relief centres. - BERNAMA
