Flood waters in Sarawak receding, number of victims drops to 206

The evacuation centre at the Ranting Desa Wira PBB Operations Centre which sheltered 40 flood victims was closed at noon today.
The Sarawak Civil Defence Department Public Relations Officer, Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said with the closure of the evacuation centre, the number of flood victims had dropped to 206 compared with 245 victims recorded this morning.
"As at noon, three relief centres in Lundu sheltered 116 flood victims. The three centres were Balai Raya Kampung Paon (60 victims), Surau Nurul Huda Kampung Belungei (13) and the Kampung Jangkar Community Hall (43)," she said when contacted by Bernama.
Siti Huzaimah said in the Samarahan and Serian Divisions one relief centre in each division was operating with 90 victims being accommodated.
"In the Samarahan division, the Dewan Suarah Samarahan sheltered 80 victims from 15 families.
"While in the Serian Division, the Surau Darul Hadhari Kampung Rimba Padi in Asajaya sheltered 10 victims from five families," she added.
