Floods: 17 primary schools in Kelantan to close Monday

Seventeen primary schools in Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Tumpat and Pasir Mas will be closed on Monday due to floods which hit the four districts Sunday.

Kelantan Education Department in a statement Sunday said in Kuala Krai, eight schools will be closed, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pemberian, SK Bahagia, SK Ladang Taku, SK Pasir Kelang, SK Kuala Nal, SK Pasir Gajah, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Pasir Gajah and Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK) Saadatul Qura.

"In Tanah Merah, the five school to be closed are SK Ladang Kerilla, SK Sokor, SK Kampung Panjang, SK Tebing Tinggi and SMK Ladang Kerilla.

"Also to be closed are SK Kampung Baru, SK Rahmat and SK Rantau Panjang in Pasir Mas and SK Pulau Beluru in Tumpat," the statement said.

The statement, however, did not dislose the number of students affected by the closure of those schools. - BERNAMA
