Floods: More people evacuated in Temerloh, situation improves in Raub

The number of flood victims in the Temerloh district increased to 119 people from 40 families as at 1 pm today compared with 38 people from 13 families in the morning.
Pahang Civil Defence Force (APM) director Zainal Yusoff said with the increase in evacuees, another relief centre was opened at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Desa Bakti, in addition to the centres at SK Batu Kapor, Mentakab, and Surau Kampung Bongsu.
"The number of flood victims at SK Batu Kapor has increased to 78 people, from 32 this morning, while at Surau Kampung Bongsu, the number of victims has dropped to six people from 26 earlier.
"So far, 35 flood victims are being accommodated at SK Desa Bakti," he said when contacted here today.
He said various government departments and agencies were involved in the flood evacuation, including the police, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Social Welfare Department.
"APM is closely monitoring the flood following report of water rising in Mentakab," he said.
Meanwhile in Raub, the situation is back to normal with all the 26 people from six families who were evacuated to the community halls in Kampung Pamah Rawa and Kampung Pamah Kulat this morning having allowed to return home.
APM members are also helping flood victims to clean their houses, he added. -- Bernama
